Finding Peace

Each of us must find a way to make peace within ourselves.

Despite our individual circumstances and our shortcomings, we were given life for a reason, and to fulfill a purpose. Once I came to realize this, it placed me on the path towards redemption.

I found purpose through my spiritual walk with our loving Creator.

I walk the red road to the best of my ability and encourage others to do the same.

I am very active in my spiritual practices. I attend and help maintain the sweat lodge ceremonies at whichever facility I am housed at, and have been given the honor to lead our Native Culture Club as Chief on more than one occasion. Currently I have been appointed Spiritual Advisor, and I do my best to bring honor to that role. I participate in Native Alaskan Potlatch Ceremonies whenever possible to keep traditions alive.

Through song and prayer we seek guidance and purification so that we might better serve others and fulfill our obligations to our world and all that inhabit it.

I recently won a religious freedoms lawsuit with the help of the Alaska ACLU so that myself and others might exercise our spiritual traditions while incarcerated.
